The Super Bowl is a prime opportunity to launch a strong marketing blitz for some of this year's most anticipated films. Here's a list of which new movies received some exposure during the biggest sporting event of the year. .

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Distributor: DreamWorks SKG
Release Date: June 26

A solid little teaser. It'll get the word out for sure. So far it's the film with the latest release date to have placed an ad.

Race to Witch Mountain
Distributor: Disney
Release Date: March 13

Dwayne "Don't Call Him The Rock Anymore" Johnson has carved out a solid little niche in the world of family films. The trailer looks fun enough. March is set up to be a very solid month at the box office.

Monsters vs. Aliens
Distributor: Paramount
Release Date: March 27

The whole 3D look was a little underwhelming, but it certainly helped that this spot aired after the one for Up. Remember, audiences remember most what they saw last. What didn't help was the fact that the spot played after a record-setting interception by the Steelers. Even if viewers did remember to pick up 3D glasses, they were probably too busy talking about the play that just happened to remember to put them on. Either way, this is going to be one of the biggest hits of the spring.

Very smart spot. After the success of WALL-E, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, etc., what better selling point is there in Hollywood right now than one simple word: Pixar.

Star Trek
Distributor: Paramount
Release Date: May 8

Solid spot. It was a nice touch to use the original logo. This doesn't look quite as generic as G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra did.

Land of the Lost
Distributor: Universal
Release Date: June 5

Will Ferrell - sports = refreshing. Mainstream audiences should be relieved to see Ferrell in something other than a sports-themed comedy.

Fast & Furious
Distributor: Universal
Release Date: April 3

Very effective spot. It wasted no time telling its audience that Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are indeed back. No more crappy sequels is how that translates to mainstream audiences.

Year One
Distributor: Columbia
Release Date: June 19

Pretty funny spot. This could easily be one of the sleeper hits of the summer. The combination of Jack Black and Michael Cera is going to entice a very broad audience.

Angels & Demons
Distributor: Columbia
Release Date: May 15

This is going to be a huge domestic and international hit, so any exposure from the Super Bowl isn't necessarily going to help boost that. Considering that Frost/Nixon has been a financial disaster, Ron Howard will welcome some strong box office receipts with open arms.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
Distributor: Paramount
Release Date: August 7

The trailer that aired for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra looked like any other action flick. Absolutely nothing stood out. Paramount made a huge mistake by not playing off of the campy nature of the brand. As it stands, this trailer probably received a lot puzzle reactions. No buzz to be found here.

Distributor: Universal
Release date: March 20

Universal aired a commercial for Duplicity right before Faith Hill sang the National Anthem, which means it was playing in the background as everybody watching the game put out their spreads and poured themselves a beer.

It'll be interesting to see if Julia Roberts can return to the $100 million range with what looks like a pretty standard caper flick. The presence of Clive Owen, Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti (who were all obviously absent from the trailer that aired) added to the fact that it's written/directed by Tony Gilroy (the excellent Michael Clayton ) makes me believe that this is going to be a solid flick.
