The Super Bowl Commercials

Check back often for thoughts and video.

The Griswolds are back in an ad for Homeaway.com! Where was Cousin Eddie?

Prince of Persia ad isn't anything spectacular. It'll be going up against the juggernaut that is Sex and the City 2 on May 28. Should be plenty of room for both.

CBS promotes itself with an add for The Back-up Plan. CBS Films needs the Jennifer Lopez vehicle to do well after the mediocre performance of Extraordinary Measures.

Alice in Wonderland commercial just doesn't feel the same in 2D.

A very strong ad for Shutter Island. It'll easily be one of February's best performers.

Universal runs an ad for The Wolfman. Smart move. Next weekend is going to be incredibly crowded, and Wolfman looks poised to finish close to Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Robin Hood ad uses what sounded like the same heavy metal guitar riff that The Last Airbender did. I just can't get excited about this movie.

First commercial to air before the coin toss is for Paramount's The Last Airbender. Not bad at all. It's got an edge to it, and that should help it appeal to older demographics.

The credits say that it's not yet rated, but I'll be surprised if it's able to come in as PG. This has PG-13 written all over it.
