Cowgirls n' Angels (SAMUEL GOLDWYN)
They say the horse whisperer who starred in last year's Oscar-nominated Buck began his equine tactics as an antidote to the cruel world of trick horse shows. This family drama pits grandfatherly James Cromwell and a crew of trick horse showmen against a little girl (Bailee Madison) for what promises to be a sweet and dusty romance between girl and her horse.

Mighty Fine (ADOPT FILMS)
Chazz Palminteri is the Fine this movie calls Mightymostly because this semi-autobiographical story is from the perspective of his comically cowering daughter Natalie (Jodelle Ferland as a surrogate for director Debbie Goodstein). In 1974, Palminteri transplanted his family from bustling Brooklyn to Louisiana, where he believes new prospects are booming. Also booming: his voice when he hears his oldest girl is dating.

Moonrise Kingdom (FOCUS)
Arthouse darling Wes Anderson returns with this theatrically inspired charmer. Film school grad Bud Clayman never became a director. Instead, he spends his days working on his family's foundation for all the reasons mentioned in the comically pompous title. This doc isn't just about a person dealing with all the maladies mentioned above, it's about the sort of un-diagnosable troubles that keep a filmmaker from working.

Arjun: The Warrior Prince  (UTV)
UTV is a major distributor of Bollywood content and it looks like Disney is intrigued. This new animated film has the look of Pocahontas and the religious heft of Joseph, King of Dreams. Arjun is the Prince of the Hindi Mahabarit, a soul searcher who becomes a formidable opponent to his enemies' armies, armed only with concentration, a bow and arrows.

Battle Royale/ Batoru rowaiaru (ANCHOR BAY)
One of the biggest j-Horror classics, Battle Royale is being revived in 3D just in time to cash in on the fans who were intriguedor riled up-by the similarly themed Hunger Games. About a future Japan that forces a class of 9th graders to fight for survival, this one hits a good number of theaters in pursuit of cult fandom.

His latest is also about the tenuousness of adulthood as it tracks its main character during one day's leave from rehab to interview for a job. In 24 hours, the world is too big and not small enough.

The Intouchables (WEINSTEIN CO.)

("Where do you find an invalid?...Where you left him.") A blockbuster hit in its native France, now picked up by Harvey Weinstein.

The Woman in the Septic Tank/ Ang babae sa septic tank
Three rich Filipino filmmakers set out to film "the true spirit of their country"-poverty. Full of sympathy and ignorance they hire a starlet to play the lead, a mother so destitute she sells her child to a pedophile to survive. It's important artand maybe the location scout hired to find the perfect dump will teach them the difference between an ass and an elbow.

Wallander (MUSIC BOX)
Hennick Mankell's Swedish cop procedural has been reprised for international audiences. The series ran in on Swedish TV in the mid-2000s and was so popular that England created it's own version starring Kenneth Branaugh as the titular cop. With the DVD on its way, timing is good for this latest installment, in which Wallander buys a home by the sea, only to be followed by trouble.
