Forum Buzz: 'Man of Steel' Makes Its Move On 'Star Trek Into Darkness'

trek2-manofsteel-ironman3.pngWith Christmas just around the corner next week, we've decided to post the latest edition of our forums' most anticipated movies a bit earlier than usual.

Last week, Star Trek Into Darkness made noise by usurping The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey from the #1 slot during the latter's release week. This week, Trek maintains its hold on the top spot thanks to continued buzz from the release of a full trailer this past Monday as well as the 9-minute prologue currently screening in IMAX theaters.

But, another fan favorite made its mark this week: Man of Steel jumped three positions to take the runner-up spot left behind by the first Hobbit movie. The Superman reboot continues to generate strong buzz online with the release of its first full trailer recently, and our forum community lines up with that trend.

The biggest move of the week comes from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which jumped five spots back to #5 on the list despite a recent lull when it comes to news about the film's production. Chalk it up to some re-positioning of our voters' lists with a popular film exiting last week.

Meanwhile, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug made its debut at #9. The less-than-stellar word of mouth among fanboy crowds has probably weakened some demand for the next two films in the trilogy for the time being, although a debut in the top ten is still strong nonetheless.
