'Social Network' Still #1

on October 07, 2010 by Phil Contrino

The Social Network has been holding up quite well after finishing in first place this past weekend. The drama fell only 19% from Tuesday to Wednesday, pushing its cume to nearly $29 million. David Fincher's latest should have close to $31 million in the bank heading in to the weekend. BoxOffice.com is currently predicting a $14 million sophomore frame.

The Town is showing some serious staying power. The Warner Bros. release was able to fend off newer releases in order to finish in second on Wednesday, and it should hit close to $75 million by the end of this coming weekend.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps is holding steady in third place. The adult-skewing drama is holding up pretty well despite the fact that The Social Network and The Town are diluting its audience pretty quickly.

The disappointment continues for Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole in fourth place. The Warner Bros. release will take a big hit this coming weekend when family audiences flock to Secretariat.
