According to BoxOffice.com's Early Weekend Estimates, The Rite is on pace for a $14.3 million debut after raking in $5.3 million on Friday. The exorcism flick will therefore fall a bit below expectations for the sub-genre. The Last Exorcism opened to $20.4 million last August and The Exorcism of Emily Rose was able to grab $30.1 million in its first weekend alone. With the Super Bowl coming up next weekend, The Rite will continue to fall way behind those two comparable films.

No Strings Attached could stay at #1 during its sophomore frame if it does well on Saturday and Sunday. Paramount's romantic comedy did $4.3 million on Friday.

The King's Speech had an excellent weekend thanks in large part to its 12 Oscar nomination. The prestige pic will have no problem hitting $100 million.

Black Swan is also closing in on $100 million. Fox Searchlight's ballet thriller has found mainstream acceptance thank to all the awards buzz Natalie Portman has been receiving.

Check back tomorrow for studio weekend estimates.
