According to studio estimates, Just Go With It will rake in $31 million during its debut frame. That represents an average opening for Adam Sandler, but it marks Jennifer Aniston's best opening since 2008's Marley & Me grabbed $36.4 million. Just Go With It's debut is likely being hindered a bit by the fact that Valentine's Day is on Monday and a lot of couples will go see the film then. Sony is reporting that 60% of the audience was over 25 and 58% was female. The comedy boasts an overall A- rating from CinemaScore.
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never is not far behind with $30.26 million and a total of $31 million including Thursday previews. The teen sensation's first film effort will end up just shy of the $31.1 million debut of Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Tour. There's a chance that Never Say Never could actually move past Just Go With It when actuals are released tomorrow. 84% of the film's business came from 3D showings. Paramount is reporting that 67% of the audience was under 25 and 84% was female. The overall CinemaScore rating is an A.
Disney's Gnomeo and Juliet is off to an excellent start. Family audiences were clearly hungry for something to see. The overall CinemaScore rating is a B+.
The Eagle fell short of hitting even $10 million this weekend. Star Channing Tatum simply isn't able to carry a movie on his own yet.
Check back tomorrow for weekend actuals.
