With $30.01 million in the bank on Friday, The Hangover Part II is on pace for a staggering $87 million from Friday-Sunday. The sequel should grab $107 million from Friday-Monday, and that will give it a total of $138.7 million in its first five days. The first Hangover made $59.2 million during its first five days, so this marks a substantial improvement. One record that the sequel will definitely break is the best 3-day total for a comedy set by 2002's Austin Powers in Goldmember with $73 million. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End holds the all-time four-day Memorial Day weekend record with $139.8 million.

Kung Fu Panda 2 is being overshadowed in a big way by its raunchy competitor. The animated sequel managed only $13.2 million on Friday, which means it'll hit around $49 million from Friday-Sunday. From Friday-Monday, KFP2 should take in $64 million, giving it a 5-day total of $69.8 million. The first Kung Fu Panda took in $72.6 million during its first five days in 2008.

Other 4-Day Projections:

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides: $48 million
Bridesmaids: $19.5 million
Thor: $11.5 million
Fast Five: $8 million

The Tree of Life was able to grab a solid $115,311 from 4 locations on Friday. The Fox Searchlight release should manage $385,000 by Sunday. Writer/director Terrence Malick's opus may have a tough time reaching mainstream audiences due to its artsy, meditative nature.
