The Hangover Part II continued to comfortably lead the daily box office on Wednesday.

‘Hangover Part II” #1 on Wednesday with $6.29 Million

The Hangover Part II remained at the top of the box office on Wednesday with a daily gross of $6.29 million. The R-rated blockbuster comedy sequel from Warner Bros. has now led the daily box office for seven straight days. However, The Hangover Part II did fall 17 percent from Tuesday, as the film is starting to show early signs of being front-loaded. As a result of yesterday's slide the first Wednesday gross for The Hangover Part II was actually 5 percent softer than the $6.66 million first Wednesday gross of 2009's The Hangover. With that said, The Hangover Part II has already grossed a massive $148.92 million in just seven days and is set to zoom past the $150 million domestic mark today.

Paramount's Kung Fu Panda 2 grossed $2.97 million to continue to claim second place. The 3D computer animated sequel from DreamWorks Animation fell 14 percent from Tuesday, as it is having a hard time building any momentum during the midweek. Kung Fu Panda 2 has grossed $73.12 million in seven days, which places it an underwhelming 13 percent behind the pace of 2008's Kung Fu Panda (which didn't have the benefit of 3D surcharges). After the slower than expected start, this coming weekend will be especially important for Kung Fu Panda 2.

Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides held steady in third with $2.72 million. The fourth installment of the popular franchise starring Johnny Depp was down 14 percent from Tuesday and down a solid 42 percent from last Wednesday. On Stranger Tides continues to hold its own and them some against both The Hangover Part II and Kung Fu Panda 2 and has now grossed $169.49 million through 13 days of release. That places On Stranger Tides 10 percent ahead of the pace of last year's Shrek Forever After.

Bridesmaids continued to show no signs of slowing on Wednesday with a fourth place finish of $1.88 million. Universal's break-out R-rated comedy fell 3 percent from Tuesday and only 10 percent from last Wednesday, as it experienced another terrific daily hold. Bridesmaids has greatly exceeded expectations with a 20-day gross of $93.16 million and is set to zoom past the $100 million milestone over the weekend.
