Footloose is running very close to Real Steel for the #1 spot. Paramount's remake raked in $5.565 million on Friday, and it currently boasts a 71% approval rating from nearly 27,000 Flixster users. Real Steel took in around $4.4 million, but it will see a surge on Saturday thanks to families.

The Thing managed only $3.2 million on Friday. Word of mouth is actually relatively good thanks to a 73% approval rating from nearly 16,000 Flixster users.

The Big Year is off to an incredibly mediocre start. 20th Century Fox's star-studded comedy managed only $1.150 million on Friday. Nearly 8,000 Flixster have combined to give The Big Year an underwhelming 65% approval rating.
