Despite a large daily decline, Real Steel continued to lead the daily box office with ease.

Real Steel grossed $1.84 million on Tuesday to lead the daily box office for a fifth consecutive day. The pricey Disney released DreamWorks film starring Hugh Jackman fell 46 percent from Monday. Tuesday grosses in general were understandably down significantly from Monday's inflated Columbus Day grosses, especially for family films. With that said, Real Steel hasn't held up all that entirely well the past two days, but it is still very possible that the film will stabilize over the weekend, especially given its strong Saturday performance this past weekend. Real Steel has grossed $32.56 million in five days, which is in line with expectations and places the film 3 percent behind the pace of 2008's Eagle Eye.

Sony's The Ides of March was up one spot from Monday to claim second on Tuesday with $1.04 million. The George Clooney directed political thriller starring Clooney and Ryan Gosling fell 21 percent from Monday. That represented one of the day's better daily holds among wide releases. The Ides of March has grossed $12.84 million in five days. The film is performing in line with pre-release expectations and is running 2 percent behind the pace of 2007's Michael Clayton (which had the added benefit of one week of platform release).

Fellow Sony release Moneyball was up one spot from Monday to place in third with $0.71 million. The critically acclaimed baseball film starring Brad Pitt was down 31 percent from Monday and down a healthy 33 percent from last Tuesday. Moneyball has grossed $50.93 million in 19 days and is very likely to hold up well over the upcoming weekend.

50/50 was up two spots over Monday to take fourth place with $0.64 million. The Summit release starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen fell 19 percent from Monday and 32 percent from last Tuesday. The twelve-day total for the low-budget film stands at $18.91 million.
