So much for an end-of-the-year rebound at the box office.
Paramount's Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is the only new release that isn't disappointing. The action flick will easily be #1 for the weekend and it should do quite well in the weeks to come.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo could still hold on thanks to buzz about how shocking it is, but it's not off to a great start.
Both Tintin and We Bought a Zoo are weak. Coming off the disappointing performance of Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 last weekend, it looks like a lot of families are just deciding to stay away from theaters this season.
War Horse and The Darkest Hour open tomorrow.
