With a solid $9.050 million in the bank on Friday, Act of Valor is on pace to open in first place during its debut frame. The Relativity release proves yet again that bankable stars are not essential. Nearly 10,000 Flixster users have combined to give the war-themed flick an incredibly healthy 85% approval rating.

Tyler Perry always stumbles a bit with films that Madea isn't in, and Good Deeds is no exception. The Lionsgate release managed a modest $5.35 million on Friday. Luckily, word-of-mouth is very strong thanks to a 90% approval rating from nearly 5,000 Flixster users.

Wanderlust is off to an extremely lackluster start with only $2.2 million on Friday. Word-of-mouth is also weak considering that around 9,500 Flixster users have combined to give Universal's comedy a 70% approval rating.

Gone managed only $1.662 million on Friday. More 6,100 Flixster users combined to give the Summit release a disconcerting 66% approval rating.
