'Hunger Games' Rules Again; 'Wrath' and 'Mirror Mirror' Underwhelm

on March 31, 2012 by Phil Contrino

The Hunger Games is still in great shape after its record-setting debut. Lionsgate reports that the sci-fi flick made a whopping $18.9 million on Friday, which means it will easily finish in first place during its sophomore frame.

Wrath of the Titans is going to end up in a very distant second. Warner Bros. reports a $12.4 million Friday haul. A 70% approval rating on Flixster from more than 20,300 users indicates that word-of-mouth is less than stellar.

Mirror Mirror is a major disappointment. The Relativity release managed only $5.9 million on Friday. Nearly 15,000 Flixster users have combined to give the Snow White tale a toxic 55% approval rating.

Outside of the top 10, Bully managed $30,485 from 5 locations.
