Disney's Brave took in $6.83 million on Wednesday to lead the daily box office for a sixth consecutive day. The latest 3D computer animated film from Pixar was down 23 percent from Tuesday. In general, Wednesday declines returned to the typical 2012 standards yesterday, after daily declines each of the past two Wednesdays were softened by being surrounded by Tuesday and Thursday NBA Finals games. Brave topped the $90 million mark yesterday and is set to zoom past the $100 million mark on Friday. Brave has grossed $91.03 million in six days, placing it 5.5 percent ahead of the $86.31 million six-day start of 2008's WALL•E. In comparison, WALL•E fell 12 percent on its first Wednesday to gross $6.71 million.

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted held steady in second place with $2.42 million. The 3D computer animated sequel from Paramount and DreamWorks Animation was down 24 percent from Tuesday and down 46 percent from last Wednesday. Madagascar 3 continues to exceed expectations with a 20-day take of $165.78 million. That places the film 7 percent ahead of the pace of last year's Cars 2.

Fox's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter grossed $1.48 million to remain in third. After a nice hold on Tuesday, the collaboration between director/producer Timur Bekmambetov and producer Tim Burton was down a sharp 27 percent on Wednesday. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has grossed $21.72 million in six days, which is towards the lower end of expectations and places it 38 percent ahead of the $15.74 million six-day start of 2009's 9.
