The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 took in $2.72 million on Tuesday to lead the daily box office for a twelfth consecutive day. The fifth and final installment of the blockbuster fantasy franchise was up 7 percent from Monday and down 77 percent from last Tuesday. With a twelve-day take of $232.64 million, Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is running 3 percent stronger than the $226.00 million twelve-day start of last year's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and 1 percent behind the $235.73 million twelve-day gross of 2009's The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Skyfall held steady in second place with $2.27 million. The 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise increased 18 percent over Monday and was down 60 percent from last Tuesday. Skyfall has grossed $225.34 million to date, as the film continues to distance itself from the previous unadjusted domestic totals of previous James Bond films. Skyfall currently trails the total domestic gross of Breaking Dawn - Part 2 by $7.30 million. Going forward it should be quite the race between the two films for domestic bragging rights.

Lincoln grossed $1.99 million to remain in third. The Steven Spielberg directed drama starring Daniel Day-Lewis was up 13 percent over Monday and down a very solid 37 percent from last Tuesday. Thanks in part to very strong word of mouth Lincoln continues to display terrific holding power early in its run. With a current domestic take of $66.59 million, Lincoln is currently just $13.29 million away from matching the $79.88 million final domestic gross of last year's War Horse.

Life of Pi experienced a terrific daily hold on Tuesday by increasing 31 percent over Monday's performance. The Ang Lee directed film grossed $1.78 million for the day to take fourth. Life of Pi has grossed a stronger than expected $33.72 million in its first week of release and now trails the $34.08 million seven-day total of Rise of the Guardians by a slim $0.365 million. Life of Pi is likely to overtake Rise of the Guardians today in the total gross race between the fellow Thanksgiving weekend openers.

Speaking of Rise of the Guardians, the 3D computer animated film from DreamWorks Animation was up 7 percent, but down one spot from Monday to place in sixth with $0.90 million. Meanwhile, Red Dawn was up 12 percent and one spot to place in fifth with $0.92 million. The action remake has grossed $23.43 million in its first week, which is in line with the higher end of pre-release expectations.
