'The Hobbit' Continues Leads; 'Zero Dark Thirty' Impresses; 'The Guilt Trip' and 'Monsters, Inc. 3D' Undwhelm

The Hobbit had no problem finishing in first place yet again on Wednesday. The Warner Bros. release will stay #1 again this coming weekend. The fantasy flick should hold up well into January.

Three films opened on Wednesday to mixed results. The Guilt Trip and Monsters, Inc. 3D are both off to a slow start. Zero Dark Thirty, on the other hand, has set an unadjusted record for a Wednesday platform opening. Sony will expand ZDT on January 11--a day after Oscar nominations are announced.
