Warner Bros. reports The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies added $1.44 million in first place on Wednesday, bringing its total up to $225.75 million. The finale is pacing 3 percent ahead of where The Desolation of Smaug stood at the same point. The film has spent 21 of its first 22 days in release in first place -- one more than the first film and seven more than the second.
Universal's Unbroken tacked on $1.27 million yesterday, giving it a total of $92.0 million through 14 days. The Angelina Jolie-helmed biopic is trending 10 percent ahead of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button through the same point.
Into the Woods claimed third place on Wednesday with another $1.01 million. The Disney musical's total is now $94.5 million, 7 percent ahead of 2008's Bedtime Stories through 14 days of play.
Fox's Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb took in $0.62 million yesterday, landing in fourth place. The sequel's tally is now $92.2 million.
Finishing off the top five, TWC's The Imitation Game posted $0.65 million on Wednesday. With $32.5 million in the bank so far, the well-reviewed awards contender is pacing 27 percent ahead of where The King's Speech stood at the same point in its similarly expanding run.
Last week's lone opener, The Woman In Black 2: Angel of Death, grossed $0.53 million yesterday. With $17.1 million earned through six days of release, the film is unfortunately off 30 percent from its predecessor.
