Fandango Selling 10 "Hunger" Tix Per Second; More than 2,500 Showtimes Sold Out in Advance

Los Angeles, CA -- Fandango is currently selling 10 tickets per second for "The Hunger Games." The film represents an overwhelming 96% of Fandango's ticket sales today, and has sold out more than 2,500 showtimes in advance of its release.

"The Hunger Games" leads the list of Fandango's top franchise-openers, and has eclipsed "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and surpassed "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1" to become Fandango's #3 advance ticket seller of all-time.

Fandango's new list of top 5 advance ticket-sellers of all time, as of Thursday 1 pm PT, are:
1. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" (2009)
2. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" (2011)
3. "The Hunger Games" (2012)
4. "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1" (2011)
5. "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (2010)

According to a recent Fandango survey of several thousand "Hunger Games" ticket-buyers:

• 62% of ticket-buyers plan on seeing the film more than once on the big screen;
• 61% say the action is driving them to buy a ticket;
• 54% plan on going with a group of 3 or more friends;
• 52% say Lenny Kravitz (as "Cinna") is the supporting performer they're most looking forward to seeing in the movie;
• 89% say they plan to see the movie on opening weekend.
