Two Remakes of Amitabh Bachchan Hits are Headed to the Big Screen

on June 29, 2013

Remakes and reboots have proved to be popular in Hollywood, and now it looks like the same attitude is arriving in India. If this year's versions of Chashme Baddor and Himmatwala weren't enough, the Times of India is reporting that two remakes of Amitabh Bachchan hits are in the works. Producer Jayantilal Gada is said to be attached to the projects, remakes of Bachchan's Andha Kanoon and Aakhree Raasta. Gada's current project still has links to the Big B; the producer is in charge of the 3D re-release of the 1975 classic Sholay. Bachchan's latest big-screen appearance to hit international screens is in a featured supporting role in Baz Luhrman's The Great Gatsby.
