Warner's Godzilla led the way on Monday with a strong daily take of $7.67 million. In the process, the well-received 3D sci-fi action remake surpassed the $100 million domestic milestone yesterday. Godzilla was down 66 percent from Sunday. It should be noted that Monday's grosses in general were inflated a bit by the Victoria Day holiday in Canada. Godzilla continues to demolish pre-release expectations with a four-day start of $100.86 million. That places the film 16 percent ahead of the $86.71 million four-day take of 2009's Star Trek.

Universal's Neighbors placed in second with $2.57 million. The break-out comedy starring Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne was down 60 percent from Sunday and down 42 percent from last Monday. Neighbors has grossed a very impressive $93.16 million through eleven days of release. That leaves the film just $6.84 million away from reaching the $100 million domestic milestone and places it 36 percent ahead of the $68.56 million eleven-day take of 2007's Knocked Up.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 took third place with $1.52 million. Sony's expensive superhero sequel fell 69 percent from Sunday and 33 percent from last Monday. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues to perform on the very low end of pre-release expectations with an 18-day take of $173.69 million. It is highly likely that the film will take a significant hit when Fox's highly anticipated superhero film X-Men: Days of Future Past enters the marketplace on Friday.

Disney's Million Dollar Arm finished in fourth with $0.818 million. The modestly budgeted baseball drama was down 70 percent from Sunday. That represented the day's poorest daily percentage hold among wide releases, which isn't the best early sign going forward. Despite growing buzz in the weeks leading up to its release, Million Dollar Arm is performing on the very low end of expectations with a four-day start of $11.33 million.

Fox's The Other Woman rounded out Monday's top five with $0.623 million. The comedy starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton fell 61 percent from Sunday and a very healthy 13 percent from last Monday. Thanks in part to very solid holding power, The Other Woman has grossed a stronger than expected $72.29 million in 25 days.
