Warner's Godzilla took in $6.94 million on Tuesday to lead the daily box office for a fifth consecutive day. The well-received 3D sci-fi action remake was down 9 percent from Monday, which represented a solid daily percentage hold given that Monday's grosses in general were inflated a bit by the Victoria Day holiday in Canada. Godzilla continues to outpace pre-release expectations in a very big way with a five-day start of $107.80 million. That places the film 16 percent ahead of the $93.21 million five-day take of 2009's Star Trek and 3 percent ahead of the $104.35 million five-day gross of 2011's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Universal's Neighbors held steady in second place with $2.498 million. The break-out comedy starring Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne was down a slim 3 percent form Monday and down a significant 48 percent from last Tuesday. While Neighbors continues to show signs of front-loading thus far, in the bigger picture the film has grossed a very impressive $95.66 million in twelve days of release. That leaves the film just $4.34 million away from reaching the $100 million domestic milestone.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 took in $1.36 million to remain in third place. Sony's expensive superhero sequel was down a sizable 11 percent from Monday and down 53 percent from last Tuesday. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues to perform on the very low end of pre-release expectations with a 19-day take of $175.05 million. It is highly likely that the film will take a significant hit when Fox's highly anticipated superhero film X-Men: Days of Future Past enters the marketplace on Friday.

Disney's Million Dollar Arm grossed $0.859 million to continue to claim fourth place. The modestly budgeted baseball drama starring Jon Hamm was up an encouraging 5 percent over Monday's performance. However, Million Dollar Arm is still performing on the very low end of expectations so far with a modest five-day start of $12.19 million.

Fox's The Other Woman rounded out the day's unchanged top five with $0.674 million. The comedy starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton increased 8 percent over Monday and was down 31 percent from last Tuesday. Thanks in part to very solid holding power, The Other Woman has grossed a stronger than expected $72.97 million in 26 days.
