The BoxOffice staff mourns the loss of Robin Williams, beloved actor and comedian who helped define a generation of entertainment.

Williams' career skyrocketed when he made the jump from television to the big screen following the success of "Mork & Mindy". His body of work ranged from dramatic breakout roles in Good Morning VietnamDead Poets Society, and The Fisher King (all of which earned him Oscar nominations) to beloved family fare Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, HookJumanji, and Night at the Museum.

1997's Good Will Hunting earned Mr. Williams an Academy Award for his portrayal of lovingly candid therapist, Sean Maguire. Later roles in Patch Adams, The Birdcage, One Hour Photo, and Insomnia further broadened his varied, and acclaimed, oeuvre.

In addition to his film roles and stints on television, Williams was an influential stand-up comedian whose impact on audiences, and many of today's talents, cannot be measured.
