Despite the title, "Edison" is not a movie about one of the pioneers of the motion picture industry. It's a movie made instead by people who act like they've never seen a motion picture.

Josh Pollack (Justin Timberlake) is an eager young journalist in the growing metropolis of Edison, who suspects police fraud in a drug case. Enlisting the help of the jaded Moses Ashford (Morgan Freeman), a prize-winning photojournalist from the '60s now running a community paper, he goes after a tactical squad which includes Raphael Deed (LL Cool J), an officer with a conscience, and Sgt. Francis Lazerov (Dylan McDermott), a cop who has never had one. Josh and Moses soon discover that police corruption is merely the tip of the iceberg in a larger corporate conspiracy. Loud and overbearing, "Edison" is a neo-noir pulp thriller that tries so hard to be hip it doesn't even register as cool. Starring Justin Timberlake, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, LL Cool J and Piper Perabo. Directed and written by David J. Burke. Produced by Boaz Davidson, John Thompson, George Furia and Randall Emmett. No distributor set. Drama. Not yet rated. Running time: 97 min
