This is a great movie for children and for adults who appreciate pure slapstick, though it doesn't work for viewers who don't enjoy physical humor. When Ernie (Nathan Lane) and Lars (Lee Evans) inherit not only their father's string factory but the rundown mansion he won in a bet, the fun begins. They discover by accident that their house was designed by a famous architect and, although dilapidated, is worth millions. There is only one downside: the house is already occupied by a mouse. And this is no ordinary mouse. As in all good movies where man pits wits with a rodent, the furry creature wipes the floor with them. "MouseHunt" offers slick special effects and strong, larger-than-life performances by Lane and Evans as the two unlikely brothers. While the plot is generally predictable, the ending is rather clever and totally unexpected. Starring Nathan Lane, Lee Evans, Maury Chaykin and Christopher Walken. Directed by Gore Verbinski. Written by Adam Rifkin. Produced by Alan Riche, Tony Ludwig and Bruce Cohen. A DreamWorks release. Comedy. Rated PG. Running time: 98 min
